Maple Leafs General Manager Brian Burke and Assistant General Manager Tom Renney announced today that they have waived forward Andrew “Kiki” Andersson, forward Kevin “Kev” Harlan and forward Matt “TheManny” Hendricks.
All three players are assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.
Hendricks, 25, played in seven games for the Maple Leafs last season after spending the previous two seasons with the Minnesota Wild.
He recorded two goals and three assists in 41 games with the Maple Leaf farm team last season.
In addition, the Leafs have reassigned goaltender Matt “Matt” Hendricks to the Griffins, who will open the season in Grand Rapids.
He had a 2-2-0 record with a 3.03 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in 39 games for Grand Rapids last season, compiling a 2.78 goals-for percentage and .915 save percentage.
Hindricks was originally selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fourth round (116th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
He spent three seasons with Windsor before being traded to Toronto on February 2, 2016.
He was signed to a two-year entry-level contract by Toronto on January 29, 2019.
Hendson is a sixth-round pick (135th overall), third overall, in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft by the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
